This afternoon I led the Adjournment Debate on Sutton's Decentralised Energy Network which has repeatedly let residents down with heating and hot water outages.
Residents have experienced over 25 heating and hot water outages since moving in by Sutton Council's Liberal Democrats and enough is enough.
The independent report was clear: Sutton Council set up SDEN on false pretences and have failed to manage the company ever since. I will continue fighting for New Mill Quarter residents and I'm delighted to have secured today's debate for them.
A huge thank you to our neighbouring MP Paul Scully for responding to the debate on behalf of BEIS and for confirming that the Department is looking into regulating district energy networks so disasters such as SDEN are not allowed to continue.
I hope that residents will judge the record of Sutton Council's Liberal Democrats on matters such as SDEN in May.
