After speaking with Southern and Thameslink Railways, I am pleased to report that additional rail capacity will be restored on local routes from tomorrow.
Starting tomorrow, more peak services from Hackbridge and Carshalton stations will be in 10 car trains, rather than the current 5.
Then from 5th July, services from Carshalton Beeches and Wallington to London Victoria, which are currently operating at around 50%, will be restored to 100%.
I am very pleased to hear about these capacity increases on local rail services, especially due to the need to be socially distant when travelling on public transport.
On Tuesday 16th June, I will be raising the wider issue of transport in Carshalton and Wallington in a debate in Parliament.
I would also urge residents to have their say on the Croydon Bottleneck project, which will unlock even greater capacity on local lines by taking a look here.
