Earlier today I met with a number of constituents to discuss their concerns about the refuse collection for parts of the High Street in Carshalton.
Since Veolia have taken over, some residents have reported problems with bin collections, with Veolia refusing to collect the bins from long-standing storage areas. Instead, Veolia have insisted that the bins are left in the council car park which is not only unattractive but generates additional waste from passers-by, which cross-contaminates resulting in Veolia then refusing to empty. More rubbish accumulates, and the cycle continues.
I have heard numerous similar concerns from other residents and businesses, and I will be taking this matter up with Veolia directly to ask them to resolve.
Please do get in touch with me directly if you have concerns about refuse collection in your area.
