This morning I caught up via Zoom with Gary Milsom, one of the Directors of the Cryer Arts Centre, to discuss some of the issues continuing to affect our cultural and arts sectors.
The Cryer had been successful in grant funding from the Government to help them through the current pandemic, which is great news. However, they are concerned about capacity capabilities under the localised tier restrictions - prior to going back into full national restrictions - and how they can maximise the number of people at shows once lockdown relaxes again.
I've said that I'll raise these matters with Ministers, and ask them to explore what more can be done to help venues continue to operate in a COVID-secure manner.
I am always pleased to support the Cryer Arts Centre any way that I can; they're a fantastic venue in the heart of our local area.
