I appreciated the chance to meet with Kidney Care UK and NHS Blood and Transplant at their reception in Parliament yesterday, as well as patients and those on waiting lists, to talk all things organ donation.
What was evident is that for many people needing an organ donation, time is currently not on their side with huge waiting lists for organs, including 5,000-plus for kidney donation alone.
With Organ Donation Week coming up, getting as many donors as possible for the thousands waiting for a lifesaving transplant is vital.
