I am pleased to introduce The Geller Commission, a new initiative led by Laurence Geller CBE, Chancellor of the University of West London. In collaboration with esteemed partners including Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia UK, UK Dementia Research Institute and the Geller Institute of Ageing & memory at the University of West London, the commission aims to drive positive change in hospital care for those living with dementia.
As part of their review, they are inviting individuals directly or indirectly affected by dementia to contribute their experiences through The Geller Commission website. The Commission will conduct an in-depth analysis of the gathered evidence. This is an opportunity for the people of Carshalton and Wallington to have their voices heard.
This initiative presents a unique opportunity to listen to diverse perspectives, including those living with dementia, their caregivers, families, friends and healthcare practitioners. By amplifying these voices, we aim to ensure our recommendations are informed by the real experiences and needs of those impacted.
