The operators of the Beddington Incinerator want to increase the amount of waste they burn. And the Environment Agency has said they're minded to approve the application.
This is despite:
- Current capacity already more than covering our area's needs.
- Council reassurances during the planning stage that no expansion requests would be made - despite warnings.
- Longstanding concerns over the increased vehicle traffic to and from the site.
Whilst the Lib Dem Councils' promises go up in smoke, Beddington stands to be made the dumping ground for South London's waste.
