I was really glad to be able to attend a recent meeting of ACHA, our local African & Caribbean Heritage Association.
ACHA do some incredibly worthwhile and important work across our area. This includes bringing together the senior members of Sutton's African and Caribbean communities for friendship and reminiscing; caring and sharing; as well as providing help and guidance on health, wellbeing, and for cultural and community events. It was incredibly interesting to hear from everyone at the group - about their experiences in life, as well as their perspectives on our local area, including ideas and tips for future campaigns and issues across Carshalton and Wallington.
I was also really appreciative of the opportunity to feedback on some of the things I've been up to in Westminster recently, and to hear their thoughts on it all!
Finally, I'd like to thank ACHA once again for inviting me and I look forward to visiting again soon. To find out more about them, including how to get involved, you can do so at: Home - African Caribbean Heritage Association (achasutton.org).
