This afternoon I met virtually with Chief Superintendent Dave Stringer, Borough Commander for Croydon, Bromley and Sutton Police, to discuss ongoing operational matters and to raise specific concerns that constituents have highlighted with me in recent weeks.
I was pleased to hear that COVID-compliance across Sutton continues to be high, and that we have had no major incidents in recent weeks.
We also spoke about the knife incident in Prince of Wales Road, and Commander Stringer will be keeping me informed as that progresses.
I also raised the ongoing concern of catalytic converter thefts.
He will be helping us with a named contact as we look to bring the Police, the RSPCA, and SLAIN (the South London Animal Investigation Network) back together to consider their next steps in tackling the Croydon Cat Killer; our working group will be meeting again in early April.
Finally, I would just like to thank all our uniformed services for their continued commitment and hard work as we deal with coronavirus; they are going above and beyond to keep us all safe. Please do continue to comply with the rules and guidance as we move out of lockdown in the coming weeks.
