SDEN - the Lib Dem-run council-owned district energy network (Sutton Decentralised Energy Network) - continues to fail Carshalton and Wallington residents, particularly those living in New Mill Quarter in Hackbridge, on a regular basis.
This is entirely unacceptable and, further to previous conversations with the Secretary of State, I again raised this with him today and asked what steps he is taking to ensure that district energy networks are regulated, following the closure of the BEIS consultation last year.
I welcomed his commitment to regulating the heat networks market, and that he will be bringing forward legislation at the earliest possible opportunity.
