Happy St George's Day!
Yesterday, during Business Questions, I asked the Commons Leader for a debate to mark this day and to celebrate all that is great about this green and pleasant land.
As always, the Leader replied with his usual panache, and enlightened us all on some of the facets of St George's life, as well as on some of the other saints whose days are also celebrated this week.
I absolutely agree with him that St George, and all those saints who pray for the success of the whole United Kingdom - St Andrew, St David, and St Patrick - should be celebrated and commemorated.
I hope - like me - you'll be raising a glass later to St George!
