During the Prime Minister's statement today on COVID-19, I asked him to ensure that people waiting for elective surgery and cancer treatments, and those needing support for mental health, be front and centre of our plans for the NHS as we emerge from the pandemic.
I was grateful that he agreed how important this issue is, and that he rightly highlighted - during Mental Health Awareness Week - the work the Government is doing in the area of mental health support.
