The junction is closed again as the Council has once again needed to close it to try and remodel the pavement and traffic islands to allow the 154 and 455 buses to return to Roundshaw. It's really frustrating that people have to put up with more chaos for a totally unnecessary error that has prevented people being about to get buses to and from Roundshaw for weeks now.
Myself, London Assembly Member Neil Garratt for Croydon & Sutton and local Councillors Patrick Magnus and Jonathan Pearce, have been campaigning to bring back the buses on Roundshaw alongside local residents, and thanks to everyone who has signed our petition.
Apparently, these works could go on until Monday, meaning another weekend of traffic chaos in Wallington. Transport for London (TfL) will then test if it can get buses round the junction. Hopefully, this will be the final time residents have to endure this and buses can return to Roundshaw.
I will keep residents updated. In the meantime, our petition remains open at: https://www.elliotcolburn.co.uk/roundshawbuses.
