Following on from my conversations recently with Simon Longbottom, Chief Executive of Stonegate Pubs, I met virtually today with the General Managers of the Stonegate pubs in our local area.
I was grateful to Jess Curnock Cook, Senior Account Manager for Stonegate Pubs, for setting up the meeting, and I was pleased to have the opportunity to talk with Beatrice from the Race Horse in Carshalton and Steven from the Star in Wallington about their experiences.
It is clear that the pubs sector has done so much work to become COVID-secure and ready to welcome their customers back, and I know how disappointed they are about the restrictions under which they now have to operate.
I have raised these matters with Ministers in the Treasury and in BEIS, and I will continue to press for pubs to have the full support they need as we move forward.
