On the 21st, I welcomed Children's Minister, David Johnston MP down to Carshalton to discuss what the Government are doing to support working parents and their children. We visited the Riverside Centre to visit the Governemnt funded Holiday Activities and Food club. Each local authority is giving funding to give children fun activities and nutritious meals during school holidays. Parent's are able to check what is available via council websites.
Whilst David Johnston MP was down in the patch, I also asked him to explain more broadly what the Government are doing to help support parents and their children. I was thrilled to hear that this Conservative Government is giving the single biggest investment ever into childcare. This means that parents will be able to claim 33 hours of childcare for their children, from nine months old, until they start school.
